The wind is strong and cold. I walk to the sea-front each day and to the end of the pier. The landscape is grey but when I get back I paint with a palette bursting with colour as I try to capture on canvas the last images of France.
I was born Mary Elizabeth Peckham in New Inn Monmouthshire. I am a painter working from studios in Cardiff and the South of France. I am passionate about painting landscapes and take my inspiration from the Post-War Paris painters. Giacometti and Nicolas de Stael have had the most influence on my painting.
